When I say Merry Christmas…

When I wish you a Merry Christmas, I hope you hear my desire to spread peace, love, and harmony.

At this time of year, there are many who are wrestling with the cold, the long dark days, sad memories, money worries, disappointment, pain, despair, or loneliness. I wish I could lift those burdens for a moment, or a lifetime. That’s my heart. I want to alleviate suffering. So, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Mawlid el-Nabi, Rohatsu (Bodhi Day), Winter Solstice, or not at all, I wish you relief from suffering, hope instead of despair, peace instead of worry, laughter in spite of tears, and comfort for today. May you feel a moment of companionship for having shared that moment when someone has looked you in your eyes and said…

Merry Christmas!
